PHN Data: Flat files

A flat file is a type of data storage format that organises information in a plain, unstructured text file. In a flat file, data are stored in a tabular form, with each line representing a record and individual data elements separated by delimiters, such as commas or tabs.

PHIDU data flat files comprise data structured by Broad topic, Topic, and Indicator where each row represents a geographic area. PHIDU data flat files are available for the following geographies:

Primary Health Networks (PHNs)
Higher structures - Greater Capital City Statistical Areas/Rest of States/NT; States/Territories; and Australia
Population Health Areas (PHAs) within PHNs
Local Government Areas (LGAs) with PHNs

Broad_topic	Data theme, made up of a group of topics
Topic	A group of indicators
Indicator	A single indicator
Time_period	The time period the indicator data was collected in
Measure_type	The indicators method of calculation
Metadata	Notable information if any about the indicator
Count	The number of observations for an indicator for a particular geographic area
Rate	The rate for an indicator for a particular geographic area
Topic_index	A sort column for the Topic column
Indicator_index	A sort column for the Indicator column
Broad_topic_index	A sort column for the Broad_topic column
